Camille is a certified Equinology Equine Body Worker, proficient in employing a diverse range of bodywork techniques. These techniques include sports massage, soft tissue mobilization, stretching, range of motion exercises, and positioning exercises. Additionally, Camille incorporates "focal" point work, addressing stress and trigger points. This comprehensive approach offers optimal support for horses across various disciplines.
Recognizing the unique needs of each horse, Camille tailors every session to address specific requirements. The cost for a session is $90.
In addition to traditional bodywork, Camille provides an extra therapeutic option: equine taping. This technique involves stimulating the hair follicle in the second layer of the skin, lifting it and promoting increased blood flow to specific areas. Equine taping provides support, pain relief, and rehabilitation for horses dealing with pain or stress.
Ensuring the proper fit of saddles is paramount for horses' and riders' comfort and well-being. These specialized services are designed to achieve an optimal fit, providing adequate support to the horse's back while allowing the rider to maintain correct posture and balance. Regular assessments of your saddle are crucial as your horse ages, grow, and develops.
Camille conducts a comprehensive evaluation, considering the horse's conformation, taking precise measurements, performing a back examination, and assessing the saddle from the ground. You will mount and ride to further determine the fit of the saddle for both horse and rider. This detail-orientated process identifies potential issues like pressure points or restricted movement from an ill-fitting saddle.
Total reflocking involves removing the old material from the saddle panels and replacing it with new wool. Over time, the wool can compress, resulting in a hard, lumpy, and uneven surface that requires replacement. An unbalanced saddle can also develop. After a complete reflock, it is advisable to reassess the fit and flocking after approximately 20 hours of riding (roughly 30-40 days).
Flocking adjustments entail adding additional wool to existing panels or removing over-flocked wool. The cost may vary depending on the extent of the required work. Regular yearly checks are recommended for wool saddles.
Camille offers flocking services using new Brown Jacobs Wool sourced from England.
